CeLaVi: an interactive cell lineage visualization tool

Abstract Recent innovations in genetics and imaging are providing the means to reconstruct cell lineages, either by tracking divisions using live microscopy, or deducing history of cells molecular recorders. A lineage on its own, however, is simply a description as branching events. major goal current research integrate this relationships with information about spatial distribution identities those produce. Visualizing, interpreting exploring these complex data an intuitive manner requires development new tools. Here we present CeLaVi, web-based visualization tool that allows users navigate interact representation whilst simultaneously visualizing distribution, properties cells. CeLaVi’s principal functions include ability explore manipulate tree; visualise clones at different depths colour 3D viewer based relationships; various qualities (e.g. gene expression, type) annotate selected cells/clones. All capabilities demonstrated four example sets. CeLaVi available http://www.celavi.pro.
